YOUR TEACHER
Titilayo Tinubu Ali
For over two decades, Titilayo (pronounced tee-tee-lie-o) Tinubu Ali has played several roles in removing barriers to educational and economic opportunity: communicator, researcher, educator, advisor, attorney, and advocate.
She is currently a partner at Bellwether, a national nonprofit consulting firm that helps foundations and education organizations channel their passions for education into strategic impact. She previously served as senior advisor and senior director of research and policy at the Southern Education Foundation advancing educational opportunity for students across sixteen southern states.
Titilayo is co-author of two books, Disrupting Disruption: The Steady Work of Transforming Schools (Oxford University Press) and On the Road to High-Quality Early Learning: Changing Children’s Lives (Teachers College Press). Her work has received coverage in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Dallas Morning News, National Public Radio, and more.
She is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University where she teaches educational equity, law, and public policy, and she is creator of the Own Your Expertise® women's leadership program.
Titilayo earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Spelman College, a master’s degree in education policy from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a proud Atlanta native, wife, and mom of 7-year-old twin boys.
